About 2 years ago I read a book called The Happiness Project, by Gretchen Rubin. I was not in a good place at that point in my life and was desperately seeking "happiness." I can't say that this book solved all of my problems but it did shed some light onto some of my issues and what I needed to work on resolving.
The reason I bring this up is because this book has sort of driven the concept for my future blogging. As I mentioned, I will be taking on a monthly challenge, task or goal and blogging about my experience. Seeing as my topics will vary from month to month I hope to capture an interest from different types of people via the various topics. Although this won't be so much a quest to find happiness as Gretchen has written about in her book, but it is more of a way to sustain my happiness. I am in a much better place currently, however I am a strong believer in continuing to improve upon oneself. With that being said, it is crucial to challenge yourself by experiencing new things. Challenging myself and keeping myself busy, are concepts that I have learned make me happy and help me to grow as an individual.
So with these posts I hope to broaden my horizons and accomplish things I have wanted to, along with continuing to blog. I also hope that I can motivate others to take on challenges and tasks that they wish to accomplish and shed some positive light out into the world. Anything is possible, you just have to want it bad enough!
On a side note, if you haven't read this book, (whether you are searching for happiness or not) I strongly recommend it. Each chapter is broken down into topics and provides great tips for people who are just simply trying to improve upon various areas of their lives. With the new year upon us, this is a great motivational read to continue those New Year's resolutions.

I really like the sound of the blog posts you are planning. Also I have never read the book but I might order it, I have a friend who definitely could do with reading it, I might buy it and read it and then pass it on to my friend :)
ReplyDeleteIt's good to hear you are in a lot better place now. I have been in a really bad place in the past (and I mean really bad, it scares me to think back to what a mess I was in) but I came out the other side and feel so much better. It really makes you appreciate the small things in life and pushes you to do more to make yourself happy doesn't it?
Have a lovely Tuesday.

Hey Janine,
DeleteYes it does. Focusing on the little things and letting go of things you can't change is super important. Thanks for the support.
