I have been looking for the right pillows for my bedroom for quite some time now and have had no luck. Either the pattern wasn't right or the shade of blue was off. So finally, I decided to make my own. Of course as soon as I began this task I saw the sequined teal pillow (pictured below) at Target. It is the perfect chic pillow to add to the shabby ones I created.
I have some very basic sowing skills that I have not used in a very very long time, but I figured a pillow couldn't be that hard. I purchased this fabric and some stuffing from Jo-Ann Fabrics, and got to work.
I have some very basic sowing skills that I have not used in a very very long time, but I figured a pillow couldn't be that hard. I purchased this fabric and some stuffing from Jo-Ann Fabrics, and got to work.
Supplies needed:
1) Fabric of your choice.
2) Stuffing.
3) Scissors (the sharper the better).
4) Needle & pins.
5) Thread.
1) Cut the fabric into 2 even rectangles.
2) Fold fabric with the design side facing inward.
3) Line up the sides and sow along the edge using an over stitch.
4) Leave a corner opening for stuffing purposes.
5) Stuff pillow to desired firmness.
6) Sow the opening using a ladder stitch.

They look great, really professional! I am glad you posted them I was looking forward to seeing the finished product. I am very impressed :)
